Now, make your plans to visit two marvelous attractions, both of an educational bent. First, the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland. It’s just shy of an hour from Milan, and so worth the trip! The building itself is very impressive, but when you walk through the doors, prepare to be amazed! There are multiple exhibits and events and programs. One of the really cool things to do is view a film presentation in the multi-story, laser-illuminated projection Cleveland Clinic Domed Theater. It’s an experience like none other! The science Center’s winter hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10-5, and Sunday noon – 5.
The other educational attraction is the National Museum of the Great Lakes, on the “other side” of Milan, in Toledo. Also about an hour drive, the Great Lakes museum is open year-round, Tuesday-Saturday from 10-5, and Sunday noon – 5. You can explore the history of the GReat Lakes region from antiquity to the present, with over 300 genuine artifacts, a number of powerful audiovisual displays and 40 hands-on interactive exhibits.
