Christmas is just two weeks away! So many winter happenings are taking place in the areas surrounding Sandusky. Since we’re in the little town of Milan, we’re going farther afield for our festive fun, and we’d like to invite you to share the warmth with us! Here’s a list of last-minute things to do when you are staying with us at Angel Welcome Bed & Breakfast!
The Sandusky County Fairgrounds hosts Winter Wonderland 2024! Open through December 22, 2024, 6-8pm nighlty are drive-thru times for $5 per car, or walk-through (weekends only) from 6-9pm ($2 per adult). Beside the incredible light displays, you can enjoy train and horse rides, craft shows, live music, treats, crafts and activites for the kiddos, and maybe even a sight of the man himself, Santa!
10am to 5pm on December 14-15 are free admission days for the Liberty Aviation Museum in Port Clinton. In addition to the chance to tour the museum and see the amazing history of WWII aviation, take 20% off most items in the PX/gift shop, and on the 15th watch Santa fly in at 11am! Visit the Tin Goose Diner for delicious American diner dishes!
If you prefer more outdoorsy pursuits, the Winter Solstice Hike at Old Woman Creek Reserve in Huron will be just right. On December 2, from 10-11:30am, hike through the beautiful Winter landscape with Naturalist Giovanna Reising, learning about how animals and plants care for themselves in wintertime. Registration is required.
After the Big Day, you may want to relax a bit, but don’t miss the incredible New Year’s Eve Walleye Drop in Port Clinton!
