Melon Madness in Milan Ohio!
Have you ever been to the Milan Melon Festival? No? Well why not? It’s a great time! It is the only place and time of the year you can get the famous Muskmelon (cantaloupe) Ice Cream and Watermelon Sherbet, made with the incomparable sweet Milan Melons by Toft Dairy & Ice Cream Parlor. You can even get them served inside a half a melon! It always sells out, so don’t wait too long to get your scoops. We recommend at least one of each, and if you get the opportunity to get some to take home in a pint, do it!
Family Friendly Fun for All Ages
The Melon Festival is a family-friendly, old-fashioned festival that has something for everyone. Start Saturday morning at 8am with the Pancake Breakfast at St. Anthony Church. We’ve got special events for the kiddos, such as a baby contest and kiddie tractor pull, not to mention the festival rides and games that will tickle the hearts of kids of all ages. The car show on Saturday is always a big draw. You can see beautifully restored vehicles and visit with their proud owners. Live music will be played on two stages throughout the fest, as well as vendors of intersting and fun things, and of course, food offerings from the aforementioned melon ice creams to German food, and all your fair favorites.
Parking for the 2024 Melon Festival
With thousands of people coming ot the festival, it makes sense to park at Edison High School on Hwy 113, then ride the free shuttle to and from the Square. Of course, if you stay with us at Angel Welcome Bed & Breakfast, you can park here and walk right over in a few minutes – we’re so close!
We Love a Parade!
A very special part of the festival is the Grand Parade, held on Sunday at 2pm. You’ll see festival royalty, vehicles of all kinds, floats, and groups rolling along to the exhilarating drums and brasses of the marching bands!
