The Erie County Fair officially opens on August 6th at 10:00 am and runs through Sunday, August 11th at 7:30 pm at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Sandusky, OH. Fair-goers will find all kinds of different events and attractions to enjoy as they make their way through the Fairgrounds.
There are several different competitive exhibits, such as farm animals, cats and dogs, crops, baked goods, creative writing, a beautiful baby contest, crafts and more. Visit all of the exhibit buildings to see the many wonderful items created by the talented people of Erie County and to cheer on the 4-H kids who work so hard to raise good livestock.
You will also have the chance to enjoy some terrific entertainment. The headline performer is country music singer DeWayne Spaw, who will perform every day except for the final Sunday.
Another amazing act is the High Flying Pages, who combine trapeze artistry with a Ballerina on Horseback. The Coast Country 100.9 Texaco Country Showdown features local performers trying for a chance at a national title.
Other evening events include a truck pull, demolition derby, tractor pull and the Broken Horn Rodeo. Most of these events have a cost additional to the fair admission, but nothing over $5.00. The fair admission is $7.00, except for children under 36″, who are free. Special admissions days include: August 6 – Children’s Day, with free
admission under 16 years of age until 4:00PM, August 9th – Senior Day,
with free admission for all persons 60 & over until 4:00PM, and
August 10th -Veternas & Family Day – with free admission to Veterans
and immediate Family until 4:00 PM – (must have organization card or
discharge papers, does not include rides).
And of course, you don’t want to miss the rides and treats! Will there be deep-fried Snickers? No guarantees, but you will find enough delicious concoctions to keep you going for the duration of the fair!
