The festive season is probably going to look very different for many of us this year. Even though we are in troubled times, we can enjoy some of our favorite holiday traditions, socially distanced, masked-up, with good cheer. Here are a few things to do in Northern Ohio this December:
Light Up Vermilion – Vermilion Ohio
Taking place on a Thursday evening, the Downtown Vermilion businesses will offer specials, extended shopping hours, beautiful holiday window display and activities to shoppers. There will be a scavenger hunt, a special mailbox for letters to Santa, voting on the best window display and a Holiday Show and Sale by the Vermilion Arts Guild. Don’t forget that you can find some great restaurants downtown as well – make it a great Friday-eve!
Location: Downtown Vermilion, OH
Date and time: December 3, 2020, 5-8pm
Vermilion Arts Guild Gallery Holiday Show
The Holiday Show & Sale is a great place to start your holiday shopping, especially for that hard-to-buy-for person! Enjoy the seasonal pieces while you shop for paintings, prints, photos, pottery, jewelry, textiles, even cards. An added bonus this year is a raffle to win one of three baskets brimming with items made by guild members, as well as wine! A great gift idea is the 2021 Vermilion Calendar by Scott Dommin, which will also be available while supplies last.
Location: 685 Main St, Vermilion, OH 44089
Dates and Times: Saturday, November 7 through Sunday, December 20, 2020. Tuesday-Friday 10am-4pm, Saturday-Sunday Noon-4pm. Closed on Mondays.
Twelve Days of Christmas at the Culinary Vegetable Institute
A more exclusive, special treat event, the Twelve Days of Christmas dinner is a 12-course culinary experience, taking place around their fireplace under the stars. Chef Jamie Simpson and his team will create a culinary interpretation of the famous Christmas song at this intimate event. Tickets start at $450 per person. This event has limited seating, so you will want to purchase your tickets soon.
Location: 12304 Mudbrook Road, Milan, OH 44846
Date: Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12, 2020
