We are so happy to announce that the famous Milan Melon Festival is back on for 2021! The festival will be held in the Milan Town Square on Labor Day weekend, September 4-6. Getting to the festival is easier with the free shuttle! Park at Edison High School on Hwy 113, then ride the shuttle to and from the Square.
You can only get the legendary Muskmelon Ice Cream and Watermelon Sherbet, made with sweet Milan Melons by Toft Dairy & Ice Cream Parlor, once per year, at the Melon festival. It always sells out, so don’t wait too long to get your scoops. We recommend at least one of each!
The schedule is jam-packed with family-friendly activities – besides the rides, you can enjoy a pancake breakfast (8am on Saturday), a beautiful baby contest, the crowning of the festival Queen and court, the Grand Parade (Sunday at 2pm), multiple live-music acts, 5K and 1-mile Fun Run on Monday morning (Register Here), tractor pulls and so much more!
As always, food (besides ice cream and sherbet!) and craft vendors will be setting up to provide you with delicious treats and unique shopping opportunities. The Milan Fire Fighters will be selling their yummy barbecued chicken on Sunday.
We are SO excited to have the fest back, and hope you’ll check our availability calendar and make your reservations soon – Angel Welcome Bed & Breakfast is just steps from the town square, giving you the closest accommodation in town to the festival. We’ll provide you a supremely comfortable night’s rest and a delicious home-cooked breakfast to get you set for your day at the fest, along with a place to recover in our screened-in gazebo, equipped with a ceiling fan, lighting, and cozy seating. We can’t wait to see you!
