It’s just the middle of May, but the Independence Day celebration planning is in full-swing here in Northern Ohio! If you come in on Wednesday, you can visit the Oak Harbor Independence Day Celebration, which has their fireworks a day early. Starting at 5pm, find food trucks, entertainment, drawings, beverage sales and the Royal Duck Race down the Portage River, followed at 8 by the amazing fireworks show!

On the 4th itself, we have several festivals and displays to choose from:
Sandusky’s 4th of July Stars and Stripes Celebration takes place from 10am-4pm and features marching bands and choirs and other musical acts, concession stands, food and booths.

Also in Sandusky, Cedar Point puts on Light Up the Point! at 10pm on the 4th and the 5th. This display is known for being extravagant and incredible, “one of the largest fireworks displays in the Midwest “, and takes place right on the beach.
